BLS International Service charge

• There is a service charge in addition to the visa, fee payable by all applicants and visa categories of £14,85(inclusive of VAT) per visa application.
• As an additional service, passports may be returned by special next-day delivery at a cost of £29.99 (including VAT) per visa application.
• The SMS and email notification for the processing of the applications is available at a fee of £1.95 (Inclusive of VAT) per visa application.
• The Visa fees can be paid by cash, credit/debit card.
• All fees are non-refundable.

Documents Required

Travel Insurance for Schengen Visa

Travel Insurance certificate must be submitted at the visa application center as it is a mandatory requirement for applicants travelling to Spain. You may get your travel insurance from any authorized insurance company or you may Click Here if you wish to avail this optional service now.

Please note all of the required documentation listed below is mandatory for all applicants, including such cases where flights, accommodation, insurance and other items may be arranged by applicant’s employer, travel companies or any other companies or individuals. If applying as a family, all family members must provide their own individual documents.

• Please read the checklist carefully as failing to submit any of the required documents may lead to a refusal of the visa, which is not refundable.
• Please note that you must produce one application per person (Including minors).
• Schengen Visas will be processed within 15 days, but may take up to 45 calendar days in particular cases
• Please note that your visa application will not be accepted if your place of residence is outside of our consular jurisdiction:
• TERRITORIAL JURISDICTION OF THE SPANISH GENERAL CONSULATE IN EDINBURGH - Scotland and Scottish Islands.- Northern Ireland.- The following England´s counties:Cleveland, Cumbria, Durham, Northumberland, Tyne & Wear and Tees Valley (Redcar and Cleveland, Stockton on Tees, Hartlepool, Darlington and Middlesbrough).
• Modification or cancelation of any travel reservation after the Visa is granted may lead to refusal in future Visa applications.
• The owner of a refugee travel document issued under the Geneva Convention of Refugee Regulations of the 28th July 1951 or the New York Refugee Regulation Protocol of the 31st of January 1967, are required to obtain a visa unless they have a resident permit issued by one of the member states.
• Holding a BRP or being an EU relative does not exempt the holder from the visa requirement.

Photo Specifications

Note: We regret we cannot accept photographs that do not meet these requirements

Please provide one recent photograph (not more than 6 months old) of yourself, which should not have been used previously in the passport. The photograph should be in colour and:

• Taken against a white so that features are distinguishable and contrast against the background.
• Clear share quality and with the face in focus.
• Printed on normal photographic paper (camera print).
• Full face, non-smiling [without sunglasses, a hat/cap or other head covering, unless the applicant wears such items because of their religious belief or ethnic background]
• Please stick the Photograph on the Visa Application Form.

Note: Please follow these instructions carefully. If photographs presented do not meet these requirements your application will be considered incomplete. A photo booth meeting these requirements is available at the centre..

Processing Time

Applications accepted at the Spain Visa Application Centre will be submitted on the next working day at Consulate General of Spain in Edinburgh.

The legal period for reaching a decision is of 15 calendar days as of the day after the application submission date, but this period may be extended to 45 calendar days if an interview or additional documents are requested. The Consular Office shall process the application on a preferential basis.

Visa applications submitted by nationals of certain States require consultation with the central authorities that could affect the duration of the visa procedure.

The Consulate does not provide information on the state of a visa application nor on refusals of visas. Any email requesting information on these issues will not be answered.

BLS international can not be held responsible for processing time taken by the consulate and the outcome of the application submitted for the visa purpose.
